Porduct Overview
What is a Time Switch?
A time switch (also called a timer switch, or simply timer) is a timer that operates an electric switch controlled by the timing mechanism.
Types of Time Switches
Analog Time Switch
The analog time switch is also known as the manual or mechanical switch. The design is based on a spring that tracks the time. Also, because of its simplicity, it’s quite durable. Like EKTM181H.
Digital Time Switch
Lighting, heating, ventilation and watering of gardens can easily be controlled according to a customized schedule to only use the energy that is needed. Digital time switches are ideally suited to program the operation according to daily, weekly or annual schedules in residential, commercial and industrial applications. Like EKTM-15A it is a digital time switch.
Astronomic Time Switch
Astronomic time switches are actually a type of digital switch. However, they use a different system compared to regular digital ones.
Astronomical switches work based on the time of the day. They have built-in technology that calculates the exact timing of sunrise and sunset. So, they turn the lights on or off based on those calculations.
Moreover, most models come with remote control.
Other Types of Time Switches
These three types of time switches are the most common. However, there are plenty of other types that you might find useful. Some of these are irrigation timers, water heater time switches, and staircase time switches (Like EKTM-E8), Daily time switch (EKTM-180A).
